About chair

The Center for Strategic Studies was established by Royal Decree to be an academic unit at the University of Jordan and to address the study and research of national and regional strategic issues in the political, security, economic and other fields.                         In recognition of the importance of the achievements made in its era at all levels, the Center decided to establish an academic chair in the name of King Hussein for Jordanian and International Studies to shed light on his life and his career, which led the nation and its people to the heights of progress and development based on a vision and leadership ability It was characterized by a modern, creative spirit, seeking national aspirations, national and humanitarian visions.                         From the time of his assumption of power on 2 May 1953 until his departure in 1999, King Hussein al-Albani worked to lay the foundations for the building of a modern Jordanian state within an enlightened Arab civilizational project. He completed the independence of Jordan by Arabizing the Arab army, The Jordanian nation through a difficult journey of giving and giving culminated in a humane relationship that brought together the Jordanian people and the human father over decades of sacrifice and struggle, and years of storms that rocked the region, but in his wisdom and leadership across Jordan to the safety of the people and the evils suffered by the peoples of the region.                         His Majesty King Hussein Bin Talal, may God have mercy on him, focused on building an economic, industrial and knowledge infrastructure, and was a pioneer of the educational renaissance in Jordan, which culminated in the Royal Decree of September 2, 1962, Jordan), which paved the way for educational renaissance in the following decades.                         His Majesty has struggled through his years of rule to establish peace in the Middle East and defended Palestine: the land, the cause and the people. He has carried the issue to all international platforms, affirming its justice and guaranteeing the rights of its people, and striving for it in time of war and in peacetime, .                         King Hussein's thinking and approach to governance turned into a political school for the Jordanian state led by King Abdullah II Ibn al-Hussein, with his vision to transfer Jordan to the ranks of the developed countries, which is a continuation of the approach of King Hussein al-Albani. The Center for Strategic Studies places great hopes on the establishment of this chair as a national project that will contribute to shedding light on a scientific methodology on the course of King Hussein, the era of his rule and his rewarding career.
